DERMATOLOGICAL PROCEDURES

There are several diagnostic and treatment procedures that can be performed in the field of dermatology and we offer several of them.

  • Digital mole mapping (Fotofinder®):
Digital mole mapping is a technique used in dermatology to track and monitor changes in moles and skin lesions over time. It involves the use of specialized imaging technology, such as digital photography or dermoscopy, to capture high-resolution images of the skin surface and any existing moles or suspicious lesions. It can aid in the early detection of skin cancer, specially malignant melanoma. Regular monitoring of moles and skin lesions allows for prompt intervention and appropriate treatment if any suspicious changes are detected. It is recommended for patient with higher risk of having Malignant Melanoma.
  • Surgical treatment of benign and malignant tumors of the skin:
Our dermatologists are highly trained for early detection and surgical treatment of skin cancers. They can perform skin biopsies, surgical excision of benign and malignant skin tumors along with nail surgeries.
  • Cryotherapy:
Cryotherapy in dermatology refers to the use of extremely cold temperatures to treat various skin conditions. It involves the application of liquid nitrogen to freeze and destroy targeted skin cells or lesions. It can be used to treat a variety of skin conditions, including warts, skin tags, actinic keratosis (precancerous skin lesions), seborrheic keratosis (benign skin growths), and certain types of skin cancers.
  • Photodynamic therapy (PDT):
PDT is a medical treatment that combines the use of a photosensitizing agent and light to treat certain skin conditions such as some types of skin cancers. It is a therapy that specifically targets abnormal cells while minimizing damage to healthy tissue. It’s a very safe, effective and elegant way to treat certain skin cancers, avoiding the downtime involved in a surgical excision. It can also be used to treat precancerous skin lesions, such as actinic keratosis, as well as certain types of skin cancers, including basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma. PDT can also be used to treat acne, and seborrheic dermatitis, in cases that are either resistant to other treatment modalities or in patient who cannot take oral medicines.
  • Allergy Diagnostic Testing – Patch test (True Test®), prick test:
These are different tests that can be performed for diagnosis of skin allergies. The patch test is applied to investigate eczema reactions of the skin, for example allergy to metal or to certain preservatives used in cosmetics. It consists of a few patches containing small amount of different allergens, that is applied on the skin. The prick test investigates allergies to inhalants such as dust, pollen or animal dander. With a very tiny needle a small amount of an allergen is being pricked into the skin to see if there is an immediate reaction. For small children, or anyone who doesn’t like to be pricked, we can also perform blood tests for all sorts of allergies, including to food, with our partner laboratory.
  • Electrocauterization, curettage, shaving and other modalities
Procedures used to treat benign skin lesions such as skin tags, warts, and seborrheic keratosis.
  • Hairloss:
We have the full armamentarium to investigate hairloss conditions, including dermatoscopy, and digital trichogram. Together with our partner laboratory we can investigate internal or hormonal reasons for hairloss.
  • Excessive sweating:
This condition is called hyperhidrosis. It affects mostly the underarms, hands and feet. It and can very effectively and safely treated with local injections of botulinum toxin.

 AESTHETIC DERMATOLOGY

Dermatology plays an important role in both

the medical and cosmetic aspects of skin health.

In addition to treating medical conditions, our dermatologists are highly skilled in a wide

range of cosmetic procedures such as neuromodulators,  dermal fillers, collagen biostimulators, skinboosters and others
