CLINICAL DERMATOLOGY.
Dermatology is a medical specialty that focuses on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of conditions related to the skin, hair, nails, and mucous membranes. Dermatologists are medical doctors trained to deal with a wide range of skin disorders such as acne, eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, skin infections, allergies, hair loss, nail disorders, skin cancer, and many others. They also perform procedures like skin biopsies, excisions of skin tumors, and other dermatological surgeries. Dermatologists work closely with patients to diagnose their skin conditions, develop appropriate treatment plans, educate them about proper skincare practices, and help maintain the health and well-being of their skin. ● Management of Acne, Rosacea, Eczemas, Rashes, Psoriasis, warts, etc ● Skin cancer screening and treatment (Surgical and non-surgical) ● Diagnosis and dermatological treatment for infants, children and adolescents ● Allergy and Clinical Immunology ● Scar Revision ● Hair Loss Management ● Diagnosis and treatment of nail disorders (clinical and surgical treatments) ● Skin infections
DERMATOLOGICAL PROCEDURES
There are several diagnostic and treatment procedures that can be performed in the field of dermatology and we offer several of them.
Digital mole mapping is a technique used in dermatology to track and monitor changes in moles and skin lesions over time. It involves the use of specialized imaging technology, such as digital photography or dermoscopy, to capture high-resolution images of the skin surface and any existing moles or suspicious lesions. It can aid in the early detection of skin cancer, specially malignant melanoma. Regular monitoring of moles and skin lesions allows for prompt intervention and appropriate treatment if any suspicious changes are detected. It is recommended for patient with higher risk of having Malignant Melanoma.
Our dermatologists are highly trained for early detection and surgical treatment of skin cancers. They can perform skin biopsies, surgical excision of benign and malignant skin tumors along with nail surgeries.
Cryotherapy in dermatology refers to the use of extremely cold temperatures to treat various skin conditions. It involves the application of liquid nitrogen to freeze and destroy targeted skin cells or lesions. It can be used to treat a variety of skin conditions, including warts, skin tags, actinic keratosis (precancerous skin lesions), seborrheic keratosis (benign skin growths), and certain types of skin cancers.
PDT is a medical treatment that combines the use of a photosensitizing agent and light to treat certain skin conditions such as some types of skin cancers. It is a therapy that specifically targets abnormal cells while minimizing damage to healthy tissue. It’s a very safe, effective and elegant way to treat certain skin cancers, avoiding the downtime involved in a surgical excision. It can also be used to treat precancerous skin lesions, such as actinic keratosis, as well as certain types of skin cancers, including basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma. PDT can also be used to treat acne, and seborrheic dermatitis, in cases that are either resistant to other treatment modalities or in patient who cannot take oral
medicines.
These are different tests that can be performed for diagnosis of skin allergies.
The patch test is applied to investigate eczema reactions of the skin, for example allergy to metal or to certain preservatives used in cosmetics. It consists of a few patches containing small amount of different allergens, that is applied on the skin.
The prick test investigates allergies to inhalants such as dust, pollen or animal dander. With a very tiny needle a small amount of an allergen is being pricked into the skin to see if there is an immediate reaction.
For small children, or anyone who doesn’t like to be pricked, we can also perform blood tests for all sorts of allergies, including to food, with our partner laboratory.
Procedures used to treat benign skin lesions such as skin tags, warts, and seborrheic keratosis.
We have the full armamentarium to investigate hairloss conditions, including dermatoscopy, and digital trichogram. Together with our partner laboratory we can investigate internal or hormonal reasons for hairloss.
This condition is called hyperhidrosis. It affects mostly the underarms, hands and feet. It and can very effectively and safely treated with local injections of botulinum toxin.
TECHNOLOGIES AND DEVICES
We have carefully selected several machines, also called energy based devices, to offer a wide variety of technologies that can address different skin concerns. Here are some of the technonologies we offer:

Carbon dioxide laser is used to treat a variety of skin conditions. It’s main use has been for treatment of scars and skin resurfacing, reducing appearance of wrinkles and improving skin texture and appearance. The laser energy removes the outermost layers of damaged skin, stimulating collagen production and promoting the growth of fresh, healthier skin. Other uses include:
Superficial and deep wrinkles
Skin tightening
Acne scars
Surgical scars and scars from burns
Sun damage
Warts
This technology combines microneedling with radiofrequency energy to increase collagen production, rejuvenation, and tightening of the skin. It is a versatile treatment that address various skin concerns, such as:
Wrinkles and fine lines
Acne scars and surgical scars
Skin laxity
Uneven skin texture
Stretch marks
This is one of the ultimate technologies for skin rejuvenation. It uses an ultra-short picosecond pulse technology that precisely targets pigment particles and stimulates collagen with minimal heat. Treatments are safe, effective and carry minimal downtime. Main uses:
Tattoo removal (Including blue and green colors)
Pigmentation treatments including melasma
Photoaging
Skin rejuvenation
Fine wrinkles
Pores/skin texture
This machine has two different types of laser: alexandrite and Nd:yag, which allows us to do LHR in different skin types and skin colors. It uses laser technology to target and damage hair follicles, inhibiting future hair growth. It is a popular method for long-term hair reduction or removal on areas like the face, legs, underarms, and bikini line.
Even though it can be used for several purposes, the main use of Plexr® is as a non-surgical alternative to eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) by tightening the skin in the upper and lower eyelid areas. It can treat excess skin or sagging eyelids, commonly referred to as "hooded" or "droopy" eyelids. Plexr® can also help minimize the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, particularly in areas such as the crow's feet and marionette lines. It works by stimulating collagen production and tightening the skin.
The Opatra Skin Analyzer is a device used for skin analysis and assessment. It utilizes advanced imaging technology to provide a detailed analysis of the skin's condition, helping to identify various skin concerns and guide personalized skincare routines. The device uses high-resolution cameras and special lighting to capture images of the skin's surface and underlying layers. It can magnify the skin and capture images in both visible and ultraviolet (UV) light, allowing for a comprehensive evaluation of the skin's texture, tone, moisture levels, and other key parameters.
AESTHETIC DERMATOLOGY
Dermatology plays an important role in both
the medical and cosmetic aspects of skin health.
In addition to treating medical conditions, our dermatologists are highly skilled in a wide
range of cosmetic procedures such as neuromodulators, dermal fillers, collagen biostimulators, skinboosters and others
Neuromodulators is a neurotoxin that is injected into certain muscles to cause temporary relaxation of these muscles. This procedure reduces the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. It is mostly used for winkles on the frown area, forehead and around the eyes but can also be used on the neck, to correct gummy smile, on masseter to relief pain linked with bruxism and other purposes.
Fillers are injectable substances made of hyaluronic acid that add volume and fullness to certain areas of the face, such as the cheeks, lips, and nasolabial folds, to reduce the signs of aging and enhance facial contours.
These are different injectables substances that specifically promote accelerated production of new collagen. The ones we mostly use are Sculptra® and Radiesse®. They target improving skin tightness, reducing the sagging appearance. They can also be a valuable tool for treatment of scars, especially when combined with energy based devices.
Skinboosters are a type of injectable treatment used to improve the hydration, texture, and overall skin appearance. They typically consist of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the body, that helps retain moisture and maintain skin plumpness. It is injected with a fine needle superficially on the skin in several different “dots”. It can be used as single procedure but gives a better result if associated with laser treatments.
Prophilo® is a specialized injectable treatment designed to improve skin hydration, elasticity, and overall quality. It is a type of hyaluronic acid (HA) that contains a unique formulation with a high concentration of HA. Unlike traditional dermal fillers that focus on adding volume or filling specific areas, Prophilo is primarily used for bio-remodeling and deep hydration of the skin.
PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) treatment is a procedure that uses the patient’s own blood to promote healing and rejuvenation in various areas of the body. It involves extracting a small amount of the patient’s blood, processing it to concentrate the platelets, and then re-injecting the platelet-rich plasma back into the targeted area. It can be used for facial rejuvenation, scar management, and hair restoration. It can be used alone or in conjunction with hyaluronic acid to improvement on skin hydration and plumpness.
Also called micrografting, this is an innovative medical procedure used for hair restoration and regeneration. It involves the extraction of hair micrografts from the patient’s own scalp and processing them on the Regenera Activa® device to obtain a suspension of cells and growth factors. These cellular preparations are then injected into areas of the scalp with thinning or receding hair to promote hair growth and improve hair density.
Chemical peels involve the application of a chemical solution to the skin, which exfoliates the outer layer, promoting the growth of new, healthier skin. They can improve skin texture, reduce fine lines, and treat certain types of pigmentation issues. There are several different types of chemicals such as salicylic acid, glycolic acid, retinoic acid, TCA and some combined formulations. Each one has different indications, depths and targets. The specific products used will vary based on the desired outcome.
Micro-needling is the use of devices with several fine needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin. This stimulates collagen production and can improve skin texture, reduce scars, and minimize wrinkles. It can be used in combination with PRP for greater results.
Sclerotherapy is a medical procedure used to treat varicose veins and spider veins. It involves the injection of a special solution, called a sclerosant agent, directly into the affected veins. The sclerosant causes irritation and inflammation within the vein, leading to its collapse and eventual absorption by the body.
This is a procedure that uses different types of materials such as PDO orPoly-L-Lactic acid in a thread form. There are two different categories of threads:
The so-called minithreads, that have a small stimulating effect and work similar to skin boosters and the longer collagen stimulating threads, that are placed in key areas of the face to increase collagen production, promote lifting effect and improve the jaw line definition.
Mesotherapy involves injecting small amounts of bioactive ingredients or compositions directly into the skin. It can also be performed in combination with microneedling treatment. It is used for a variety of conditions such as wrinkles around the eyes, stretch marks and hyperpigmentation.
This procedure involves the injection of fat-dissolving medications directly into the hypodermis, the fat layer of the skin. In our practice it is most commonly used to treat double-chin, but can also be used in other areas of fat deposit.*
